Riverman Fishing Cabin

Panoramic view of all three cabins
Situated 22km North from Dullstroom, these beautiful cabins provide luxury in self catering, with the excitement of fly fishing for trout, all in one location.

The dirt road to get to this farm is fair, and was easily navigated with our sedan. It would however be totally different in rainy season, but help would be available if you do get stuck.

The very spacious main cabin, Rainbow Cabin, has a full kitchen, with dining room table that seats 8. 4 bedrooms with 2x double, 2x single and 1x bunk beds. Two full size mattress as couches to the sides of the build in fireplace, will easily sleep another 2 adults.

2 and 1/2 bathrooms rounds the sleeping arangements off.

I did mention the build in fireplace?

Outside you have access to a build in braai, some more confortable seating overlooking the beautiful landscape.

2 medium sizes dams are stocked with trout, providing a challenge for seasoned casters in some obsticals in the water and ashore, but still areas easy for beginners. Country side with wondering paths make walking around easy and enjoyable.
The Blue Shop

Dullstroom is close enough if you have forgotton your toothbrush, but I would suggest stopping at The Blue Shop first before going into town.

Plastic is accepted and prevered in Dullstroom, as all banks have moved out of the town.

We caught one fish, and had 2 other escape. The fair includes 2 fish per adult, and 1 per child to keep and catch and release after this.
The catch of the weekend
Cleaning and weighing of fish not available. Not that they charge, they do not offer.

At night a warm fire and some braai rounds off a perfect stay

Double Bunk in Caravan

With our family expanding, we faced a challenge of adding another berth in our caravan, but I did not want to make it permanent.
A couple of options are available, of which one is simply to add a bunk to the single berth. We however did not want to cause any permanent markings on the interior of the caravan .

Netdata + SNMP + Mikrotik

Always wanted to see my Internet line usage as a gauge without having to log into the router.
So today I configured SNMP in Netdata to collect from my Mikrotik router.

CasparCG Simple Playlist

It is possible to build a simple playlist as a rundown in the CasparCG client. It will very simply play each item after each other that are on the same layer. In this very simple post I show how to build such a playlist including the very important step of activating the OSC.

The Open Sound Control (OSC) implementation is how the client knows what the server is doing and then being able to send new command back to the server when a piece of media has ended to trigger playback of the next piece. For more details on the OCS, please see
